I used to think I was shy. It was a label that my parents gave me and I happily embodied it – wrapping it around me like an invisible cloak. It gave me an reason to be a wall flower and to not allow my spirit to shine. It was all ego really.
Of course my husband saw right through my cloak. “You’re not shy” he would angrily mutter, “you’re just selfish! And yes of course he was right!
I learnt that abundance only comes to those who give it.
After I lost my beloved dog last year, I decided to surrender to my own personal practice, one that was right for me – not one in a yoga room where I was often stressed or forced. It shifted my entire perspective. People started saying I was shining! (hence my name YogaShine) and when you shine people come to you.
It seems unfair but it’s true – those that are the most generous receive the most. So it’s time to let go of egoist dramas the mind likes to create like you’re not good/smart/pretty enough but to give generously and reap the rewards!
